Bonnie Brae Highland Games
Posted by: | CommentsThe band will be kicking off the 2010 competition season in Liberty Corner, NJ at the Bonnie Brae Highland Games.
The grade 3 band will be performing our medley selection and the grade 4 band will compete with the quick march medley.
This marks a return to the Bonnie Brae games for the first time since 2005 for the grade 3 band.
Fingers are all crossed for good weather!

EUSPBA Pipe Band Championships
The EUSPBA Pipe Band Championships are back for 2010. Mark your band calendar for the Glasgow Lands Scottish Festival, July 17, 2010 in Florence, MA. Participating bands MUST be members of the EUSPBA by May 1, 2010 and band rosters must be received by the EUSPBA Membership Coordinator by June 1, 2010. Bands from outside the geographical boundaries of the EUSPBA may participate, but must join and submit rosters by the aforementioned dates. More details will be forthcoming, no travel money, but rest assured there will be substantial prize money, and glory for the top bands in the EUSPBA. Please join us in Florence, MA.
- Grade 1: 1st – $5000 | $3000 | $2000
- Grade 2: 1st – $4000 | $2500 | $2000
- Grade 3: 1st – $3000 | $2000 | $1000
- Grade 4: 1st – $2000 | $1500 | $ 500
- Total prize money = $28,000
Concert in Corinth
Posted by: | CommentsA great way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! The Corinth HS Band and Capital Region Celtic Pipe Band will perform a concert on Tuesday, March 16th at 7PM at Corinth High School. The concert will take place in the auditorium. Refreshments and Irish “beads and baubles” will be on sale in the lobby at intermission and before and after the concert. Donations will be accepted at the door. All monies raised will be going to the Corinth Music Boosters in support of scholarships, awards, and transportation costs associated with competitive festivals.
The High School Band will be performing “Irish Songs for Band(Deirin De, Jug of Punch, The Beggarman,Danny Boy) arranged by Robert W. Smith. Also, “Their Blossoms Down” by Samuel Hazo and “By Loch and Mountain” composed by Robert W. Smith. There are many soloists featured and some singing. The audience is welcome to join in.
New Night & New Home
Posted by: | CommentsAfter 2 years rehearsing at the Rose & Kiernan building in East Greenbush the Capital Region Celtic Pipe Band has found a new home. With our new practice location we’ve also moved our weekly rehearsals from Tuesday to Monday nights.
The band is now rehearsing at the Colonie Elks in Latham, NY from 7-9pm each Monday evening.
The band wishes to express sincere gratitude to Rose & Kiernan for allowing us to use their space over the last several years.
