Best Seats in Baseball?

Posted by: Patrick Sweet | Comments (0)

I know this isn’t relating to piping or the band but I had to share.

Limited Vendor options

Last week I had the chance to sit at what may be the best seats (or at least most unique) in MLB. The Green Monster seats have been around for a while now and like the overwhelming majority of seats at Fenway they are filled with rude, obnoxious, drunk passionate members of the Red Sox Nation.

They managed to squeeze in 3 rows of seats and some standing room behind the rows. The hands down best part of the seats is the ledge for your beverage and peanuts and the bar stool like seat they provide.

Of course since this is Fenway so you need to duck when you are walking up the stairs to get to these seats and they only offer a limited vendor selection but beggars can’t be choosers.  This afterall is not the new Yankee Stadium we are talking about.

As luck would have it the Angels also wound up winning the game which made me one of the most popular people on the monster that night!

LOON

Tuning up, massed bands and leaving the competition field.

Tuning up, massed bands and leaving the competition field.

The 2009 season is now over. It ended on a beautiful if windy day at Loon Mountain New Hampshire. We placed 6th out of 11 bands. We will be starting up in a few weeks to see if we can do even better next year.  We had a wonderful potluck dinner at one of the Condos across from the mountain and celebrated another year together. Garth got a 4th place out of a huge group in his solo 2/4 competition on Sunday. Congratulations to Garth.
